Adem Çatbaş

Adem Çatbaş is a specialist in criminal law, tenancy law, and media law.

Adem first studied Applied Earth Sciences at TU Delft. After this experience in Delft, he graduated with honours in law in Amsterdam.

During his law studies, he was chosen as the best law student at his university during the Amsterdam Moot Court Competition (ALF).

In 2015, he studied International Human Rights for a semester at the prestigious Canadian university McGill University.

He began his career as a lawyer at the State Attorney’s firm Pels Rijcken, where he acted as counsel for the State, ministries, and major commercial clients.

Subsequently, he worked as a criminal defense lawyer at several criminal law firms, including Ficq & Partners. There, he gained experience in major criminal investigations, such as the Marengo criminal case.

Adem started his own law firm in 2024 with the aim of handling more socially relevant legal cases. With several successful cases against De Telegraaf, Booking.com, and the State to date, a first step towards that goal has been taken. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Adem is also a regular lecturer in Rhetoric for Honours students at VU, UvA, and Amsterdam University College. There, he teaches about persuasiveness in the courtroom.

Adem speaks Dutch, English, and Turkish.
